Service Description

The Fox & Bee Kimono is an absolute classic item - essential for any wardrobe. It's actually what started this whole Fox & Bee journey - from kimono fancying to a business! It's such a versatile style and suitable for almost any fabric - I particularly like using vintage curtains for a dramatic statement piece - but they look good in so many different lengths, styles, fabrics that the combinations are endless. This workshop will take you through the making of our classic kimono and you have a choice of three different lengths, short (waist), medium (mid-thigh) and long (mid-calf), and two different pockets either in-seam pockets or outside patch pockets. It features a wide full length collar and deep cuffs. Just let us know when you book which style you'd like to make. Workshops are limited to a small group of 8-10 people, which ensures you all get plenty of individual help and attention. You'll be provided with one of the above patterns and printed instructions that you can keep so you can keep experimenting and creating at home. Each workshop includes tea, coffee, cake and a picnic lunch (supplied by one of our independent Lymington eateries). Please bring your own sewing machine and sewing supplies - we find it's easier when people use the sewing machines they are used to, however don't worry if you don't have one, we can supply on request*. You are welcome to use your own fabric and cotton for your project, however we also have a wide range of fabrics and cottons our courtyard shop available to purchase. * We have a limited number of sewing machines so pre-booking is essential if you cannot bring your own.
